Music Monday on a Tuesday

I'm excited to share some of my favorites from the band Washed Out. I fell in love with these guys in the summer of 2011 and I continue to fully enjoy every song they have released so far. The electronic, chillwave sounds go so unbelievably well with the voice of singer/writer/producer Ernest Greene. Their songs make every situation on a daily basis more awesome and laid back in my opinion. I often find myself wanting to listen to them when I'm painting, doing my yoga routine, going on a long car ride, or simply just hanging out!

damn it, so hard for me to not just post all of them ha!

Cherish You

< Nicola Odemann >

It would be best if you could practice being in this moment and then in the next moment and so on. Try to be here, right now. Focus upon a leaf fluttering, light reflected on the waves. Things are more beautiful, afterwards. Make it your own experience. Things will taste, feel better. Colors will be brighter and you’ll feel more alive. Gain strength. Suck up energy. Make a point to appreciate the fragrance of the flowers and the beauty of the sunset. It’s like armor and then you’re armed with an ability to be detached. One is meant to forgive, to forgive and be compassionate. Just let the mind go and look at a flower, clear your mind- Kuan Yin

Cherish your visions. Cherish your ideals. Cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you but remain true to them, your world will at last be built. James Allen

Each person comes into this world with a specific destiny--he has something to fulfill, some message has to be delivered, some work has to be completed. You are not here accidentally -you are here meaningfully. There is a purpose behind you. The whole intends to do something through you. -Osho

What is the Connection to Social Networks & Being Lonely?

“We slip into thinking that always being connected is going to make us feel less alone, but we are at risk, because the opposite is true, if we are not able to be alone, we are only going to know, how to be lonely.”

Man, this video made me wake up to a whole new outlook on social networks. I never viewed the online community this way but now since I completely understand and agree, its hard not to feel like deleting some of my online profiles.

Besides that, I'm definitely grateful that I live in the time of the internet for it has helped me out in SO many ways, such as access to online classes, countless information and advice. Plus, its fun to share photos, listen to new artists and be filled in on what's going on in a distant family member or friends life.

I don't know about you but I'm guilty for spending wayyyy too much time and energy on my iphone & laptop sometimes. That is probably why I feel anxious and I struggle to sit and focus on one thing at a time! I realize I completely unground myself from scrolling, I lose myself and the present moment.  The disconnection causes my ego to take over and I find myself allowing negativity such as putting myself down, making assumptions, judging, and procrastinating. It's clearly unhealthy and I need to be more conscious on what Im thinking, and how long I remain on the web. If you can relate with me, awesome! Then we both can learn to be aware of our energy and our thoughts more when online. For more information on grounding and ways to do it visit Abundance Tapestry.
